I was born in Chios, Greece. I studied Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens from 1990 to 1996. I subsequently completed my mandatory rural medical service from 1996 to 1998 at the Pyrgi Health Centre in Chios, while also being seconded to the Department of Surgery of the General Prefectural Hospital of Chios as an in-house medical assistant.
From 1998 to 2000, I worked as a medical resident in the Department of Internal Medicine of the General Prefectural Hospital of Rethymno in Crete. From 2000 to 2005, I continued my residency in the Department of Haematology of the University General Hospital of Heraklion in Crete, where I completed my specialty training.
On 20 December 2006, I completed my PhD thesis at the School of Health Sciences of the University of Crete, on a topic related to myelodysplastic syndromes. In 2024, I completed a Master of Science degree in “Thrombosis, Haemorrhage and Transfusion Medicine” at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
My scientific work includes presentations at Greek and international conferences, as well as peer-reviewed publications in Greek and international medical journals.
From 2005 to 2023, I worked as a consultant haematologist in the Haematology Department of Venizeleio General Hospital of Heraklion, where I assessed and treated both outpatients and hospitalized patients with malignant and non-malignant haematological diseases.
Since 2023, I have been working as a haematologist in the private sector, offering my services both at my private practice and at the private clinic “Asklepieon”, in Heraklion, Crete.
